SUN RIDE 23rd OCT - HILLS

7:30 AM   H I N D M A R S H   S Q
or 8:00 AM TOWER HOTEL

Note: Its time to head back to the earlier summer start time of 7:30am as we head in to the warmer weather (27 on Sunday) and a few longer rides.
I'll be putting together a more detailed program shortly, so feel free to email me if you have a route you want to ride. More effort will be made to keep everyone together for as long as possible, along with the addition of TT's, and a few looks at parts of the TDU course.

This week its up Gorge Road....

Everyone rides to Cuddly Creek for Coffee (stops at tower, and kangaroo creek dam) - then range of options for the ride home.

Easy:  Back down Gorge Road the way we came. 63km

Medium:  Corkscrew Road, descend Montacute Rd. 65km

Hard: Corkscrew Road, Descend Nortons.72km

Harder: Corkscrew Road, Lofty, Descend Old freeway. 80km

apologies to anyone who read my previous attempt at humour. it seemed dfunnier at 11pm last night.

SUNDAY IN THE PARK

Mix of photos from the first two crits see BG flickr for more.

Tough conditions to race in today, young Lewis set the bar high opening the day with a win in the junior crits.  He couldn't be matched though, Shawn scored the preme in B's, we just missed out on the placings in the finish. Sam got in the prize money this week with a 5th in D's. Bad luck to Andrew and ryan having a mingle in E's, no broken bones just some hardware that needs repair.

Slow on the upload but the results from the first crits below, well done to AW scoring his first envelope, and shawn sneaking of the pack to collect 4th in B's after the break away collected the major prizes.

THUR NIGHT - VIC PARK

http://www.flickr.com/photos/bastardigrassi/6045347871/in/photostream
NOTE: ONLY WHEN IN ENOUGH DAYLIGHT - WILL KICK OF IN SEPTEMBER 2012

THUR NIGHT TRAINING
5pm - 7.30pm @ VIC PARK

Day light savings is in effect and we can take advantage of vic park on Thursday nights now. A great place to train with no traffic or worries, we can ride three abreast and talk sh!t thill the sun goes down, literally.

We are doing fairly open sessions at the moment, structure if you want it or not if your just keen on a ride,  do some intensity training with Brian or some sprint intervals with Myself (FS) or simply get some Km's in the legs  rolling round. An hour out here can be worth hours on the road, with no break, non stop momentum, the efforts easily add up.  Best bit is you can't be dropped, you'll be back on in no time!!!

SUN RIDE - PAIN IS A WAY OF LIFE

SUN 09/10 BIG HILLS
Belair - Hahndorf
Meet @ 8:00am City

Righteo! Time to get serious, Amy's Ride is four weeks away. Last time we did this, Frank was still recovering from his Dad's 60th the night before, this time around he's been getting ready for the Crit season, either way you know he'll make you hurt.

Read description below and know what route your doing when you rock up. Options for 90, 75, 65km. Only 90km for the long ride but your legs are going to file for a restraining order after this abuse. Two options to get to Hahndorf - Plenty of options to get home (probably best sorted out in Hahndorf). All meet at Hahndorf for coffee.

The harder route has a steep climb and is a little longer to Sterling. Saddle Hill is the climb - easier then checkers more of a long grind then a smash fest (most BG will be fine). Both options home form Hahndorf will climb a section of road from Verdun to Carey Gully that runs parallel to Greenhill (Beaumont Rd - Gum Flat Rd). AW

See below for route directions - map

PAIN IS TEMPORARY 75km
Old Freeway - Sterling - Mylor - River Rd - Hahndorf (coffee) 35km
Verdun - Beaumont Rd - Gum Flat Rd - Carey Gully - Summertown - Greenhill. 30km
SHORT CUT: back thru Mylor - Sterling - Old Freeway (-2km easier climb)

PAIN IS A WAY OF LIFE 90km
Belair - Saddle Hill Rd (Steep) - Sterling - Mylor - River Rd - Hahndorf (coffee) 40km
Verdun - Beaumont Rd - Gum Flat Rd - Carey Gully - Deviation Rd - Forest Range - Ashton - Marble Hill - Montacute. 50km
SHORT CUT: From Carey Gully - Summertown - Greenhill (-20km)
