Here's a clue of how it went...

SUNDAY IS PAIN LIVES HERE

This Sunday was supposed to be the once-rescheduled-already Meadows Loop. However, we've had great numbers out the last two weeks, and we know the Meadows Loop sometimes scares people away. Really, however, it's not that bad..

However, your acting convenor, and acting deputy convenor are nice guys, so we have swapped Meadows out, again for another fortnight.

So no excuses, eh...

We haven't done the Pain Series loops in quite a while, cos you know winter and stuff. So Sunday, pain it is. If you have been fearing the hills, toughen up.

However, as always, there is an option for everyone.

You can choose from Pain Lives Here or Hard'n Up or Soft Option. As always all options have the added short cut of going down Greenhill Rd or Nortons to cut out Mt Lofty.

Meet at:
     7:30 am in the City
8:00 am at the Tower Hotel

Coffee is at the Uradila Bakery.

As we have some new riders who have not done the Pain loops previously. I have spelled them out in full.
  • Pain lives here - 72km : Norton’s – Ashton – Basket Range – Forest Range – Lenswood - Swamp Rd – Greenhill Rd – Carey Gully – Uraidla – Greenhill Rd – Lofty - Norwood.
  • Harden up - 58km :  Norton’s – Ashton – Basket Range – Forest Range (climb) – Deviation Rd (shortcut) – Carey Gully – Uraidla – Greenhill Rd – Lofty - Norwood.
  • Soft option - 49km : Norton’s – Ashton – Basket Range – Range Rd (shortcut) – Uraidla – Greenhill Rd – Lofty - Norwood.
Be there, seriously, or I'll report you to Aldo...

SUNDAYS RIDE IS BEACH VIA ANZAC HIGHWAY - CIVVIES DAY

Afternoon All

Aldo has been turned into the bionic man, and is now on the mend. Roumour has it that an electric motor has been fitted to both of his legs, and when he is back on the bike, he will be uber fast in the sprints...

This Sunday is Beach via Anzac Highway.

Meet in the city at 7:30am.

I have also declared it civvies day, so wear your best (or worst) contemporary kit other than your BG material (noting than Heritage Round is in November).

See you on the bike.

MAN DOWN

Unfortunately, Aldo was collected by a car yesterday morning, whilst out on a ride with work colleagues.

Heading up Norton Summit, Aldo was hit by a car turning right out of Glen Stuart Road. He rolled across the bonnet of the car, and after a brief 'ride' was deposited on the ground.

He took the brunt of the impact on his left leg, and was taken to the RAH by his wife, where a break to his left tibia was diagnosed. He'll be having surgery today, will be home in a couple of days, bearing no weight for a couple of weeks, followed by four more weeks of recovery, and then another six or so weeks of rehab, so he will be off the bike for some time.

Thankfully, he doesn't appear to have an other injuries.

His bike (only a few months old) is still to be inspected, and it's fate is unknown at this time.

The driver claims no to have seen him, which generally means he wasn't looking.
