Sunday Ride – Outer Harbor via Port Rd – No Excuses Club ride

Sunday Ride – Outer Harbor via Port Rd – No Excuses Club ride

Yes I know I said it would be hills. I have changed my mind for a couple of reasons. It is the No Excuse ride week, it’s a long weekend and mainly because I haven’t done a ride plan beyond next week. The weather looks good Partly Cloudy and 21 degress. So, I expect to see everyone out.

Meet: In the City, Hindmarsh square

Time: 7:30 am

Route: Outer Harbor via Port Rd. Esplanade, Military, Seaview Rd

Coffee: At Glenelg

Looks like we are in for warmer weather with Sunday bucking the trend. So I have looked up the BG hot weather policy and found two things. One was that the policy  was last used in February 2019 by Michael and that in 2017 we were getting numbers in the 20’s.  Sorry for the scheduling confusion I need to find an evening to sit with down with the almanac and a good bottle of red and draft a 18 month ride guide.

Sunday Ride 24/09 is Outer Harbor via Anzac Hwy

The weather report for Sunday looks great, 28 degrees with a Northly wind. A very typical spring day and an opportunity to air the new kit.

Meet: In the city

Time: 7:30 am

Route: Anzac Hwy, Military Rd, Seaview Rd, Military Rd, Esplanade, Outer Harbor, Return the same way.

Coffee at Glenelg

Return: Anzac Hwy

Sorry for the brief post this week. The only news is that TDU Challenge tour is definitely gone which is not really a surprise. We will catch up on Sunday and see what options we might do apart from Saturday and Sunday rides.

Sunday Ride 17/09 – Cudlee Creek to avoid the City Bay Fun Run

Transition out of Winter was a bit hard to schedule this year with the City-Bay on this weekend. Getting into an out of the city was a palaver last time we tried a flat route on a fun run day. So, its back-to-back hills however we have been gentle and picked Cudlee Creek so no tough climbs to worry about.

Meet: Tower Hotel at 7:30am (NOTE: The Early Start)

Route: Tower, Glen Stuart Rd, Morilata Rd, Stadbroke rd, Gorge Rd, Cudlee Creek

Coffee and Cake: Cuddle Creek

Easy Return: Out and back

Hard Return: Corkscrew Rd – Montacute Rd

BG Business Matters

23-24 Ride Guide: The current ride guide expires in October so its feedback time before I start to compile the 23-24 ride guide. Please be gentle on me.

2024 TDU: Okay the Challenge tour “seems” to have been replaced by a series of guided bike rides. If that’s the case, I think we may organise a couple of extra BG Rides. Current plans have us on the Willunga pilgrimage on Saturday and in the Hills Sunday.

This Sunday is Fathers Day so for those with a leave pass we will do a short ride down to Bower Rd rather than Outer Harbor. This should get everyone home for Lunch with time to spare. For those who decided not to ride over winter well its not winter any more.
