Sunday Ride - Anything Can Happen - Beachy Hills

Sunday Ride - Anything Can Happen - Beachy Hills

This Sunday is the first ride of Winter as is the Anything Can Happen ride. As we have struggled for numbers with people having commitments we have kept this one with lots of variations and early exits available.

Beachy Hills is a Two Coffee and Cake stop ride. Hey, Its Winter we need the carbs.

Meet in the City at 8:00 am

Part One - Beachy

City - Port Rd, Victoria Tce, Outer Harbor, Esplanade, Glenelg

Part Two - Hillsy

Glenelg - Anzac Highyway, Norwood, Coffee at Norwood, Nortons

Afternoon Rides and Numbers

After soliciting feedback about number there is support for an afternoon ride. The admin group hasn't had time to discuss this. Leave it with me.

I think we have agreement is that we are stuck in middle and as such don't completely suit either the fast guys who want a harder ride and suit those that are less fit and need a more moderate pace.  The issue is what we want to do, if anything, about it.

Sunday Ride - Up and Over - Short Hills + Beach

Sundays Ride is an Up and Over Short Hills + Beach

This ride was scheduled as the easy closing Hills ride of season. So make and effort to get out and enjoy the Hills in nice weather before we move into Winter. Its really approachable if you haven't been out to do hills in a while.

Meet : In the City at 8:00am or the Tower Hotel at 8:30am

The Route: Norton Summit, Ashton, Greenhill Rd, Mt Lofty, Toll Gate, Cross Rd, Glenelg

Coffee: Officially coffee is at Glenelg. An early coffee may be called at Uraidla so that Michael can get a "spicy pork sausage roll" fix.

The Return: Set as Military Rd / Esplanade to Semaphore, Return via Port Rd or alternate via consensus.

Distance:  85km (50km to Coffee) and 800m of climbing

Weather for Sunday looks good: 24 degrees

The Giro has been excellent in case you haven't been watching. The Gravel climbs have really shaken things up.

There is now a new world in Zwift,  Makuri Islands - Yumezi. Its a Japanese world in case you haven't guessed and is set up to be expanded later. Speculation is more roads near the Olympics.  So crack a Pocari Sweat and enjoy   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92b-BbNWnyE

Sunday Ride - Beach - Outer Harbor via Anzac Highway

This Sundays ride is Outer Harbor via Anzac Highway. For those that shy away when showers are forecast the weather is actually forecast as sunny and cool with light winds i.e. perfect for cycling. The precipitation if it arrives will be in the afternoon.

Meet in the City at 8:00am

The Route: Anzac Highway, Military Rd / Esplanade to Outer Harbor and the return to Glenelg for coffee.

Other Matters

There will be a disciplinary hearing into Brian's non-attendance last week. Hopefully both Brian and maybe his legal team (Mike) will consider attending.

I have the all clear to ride flats so I hope to be out.

The Giro has been awesome so far btw and we complain about a few drops of rain.
