CYCLING TIPS
GROUP DYNAMIC
Everyone should have a read of this article on cycling tips as it is a cracker! Some of the issues raised in this article occur within the BG dynamic - not all bad things and not all necessarily avoidable but a good read and food for thought.

TRACK WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
OZZIE GOLD DOMINATION
Australia have ended their 2010 UCI track World Championships campaign on top of the medal table with a total of six gold, two silver and two bronze medals from 19 events contested at the Ballerup Super Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ozzie victories include beating the brits in the team pursuit in an upset!! The team included local boy Jack Bobridge.
Watching the champs on eurosport last night the ozzie domination in the medals continued and Shane perkins went oh so close in the sprint final up against the French gorilla of Gregory Bauge. Perkins, making his first ever worlds final after defeating German Robert Forstemann – the human muscle!! In a close semi went before being pipped by the French men to score gold.Monday, March 29, 2010
Criterium International
Contador and Armstrong flop at Criterium
The race is one of the more interesting races on the pro calander as a sort of mini tour! First stage is a hard mountain stage on sat then sun a criterium style race with a sprint finish in the morning followed by a time trial to finish on the sun afternoon.
Stage one
Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong suffered shock failures in the first stage of the Criterium International on Saturday.
Spaniard Contador, who had been expected to attack in the final ascent of the 175.5-km trek, finished more than a minute behind stage winner Pierrick Fedrigo of France, his face a mask of pain as he crossed the line.
Cadel finished in the top pack with fellow ozzie roger's. Both looked good on long climb. Cadel looked very strong, but there were not to many of team mates around him!
Stage two
The Team Sky rider Russell Downing won a bunch sprint at the end of a 75-km effort around Porto Vecchio, finishing ahead of Swiss Michael Albasini.
Stage three - TT
A stunning start in the tt through tight village streets then on to rolling country roads. Contador set the early mark with a solid effort. Millar topped this time setting the new bench mark. Rodger's missed these times crossing in provisional third.
Cadel looked good in bmc kit - no rainbow for the TT. Starting 27 sec down to Pierrick Fedrigo at the start cadel had it all to do. In the end the Ozzie finished 8th and was not able to make an impression in the tt. Rodgers third in the tt got him second overall and on the podium 15 sec down! Cadel finished sixth.
Pierrick Fedrigo of France ran away with it in the end with a big attack on the first stage and a valiant tt to hold his jersey.

Stobie Pole v Gav: 1 nil thrashing
There was a big one last weekend which saw some rather frantic riding with Walker Texas Ranger launching a mad attack from the Glenelg Poo Farm on what was otherwise looking like a social beach ride.
A few punctures later and we were all back up and riding until THE BIG ONE.
Gav clipped a wheel, clipped the kerb and then slammed full frontal into a stobie pole at somewhere between 40-45 kph.
Did not end well.
Gav is still in the QEH and we are all hoping for a speedy recovery.
If you've not seen the next of kin email list doing the rounds - let Andrew W or Frank or Billsy know and we will get one to you. Could be a good thing to arrange some ambulance cover as a minimum because bad shit can happen to good people.
Happy Riding

PARIS NICE
Contador has claimed his first of the season and for his cofidence; after last year well publushed failure, all I can say failing a incedent - it's a case of how much will contador win the tour by, not who will win. I might eat my words but it wouldn't be the first time!

TIRRENO
Cadel moves in to third with one stage left with it all to do 12 sec a drift. Think he'll let this one slip.

EURO TOURS
PARIS NICE
Contador made his move over night on the hardest stage of the race with a mountain top finish. His attack was convincing and looks good for the grand tours.

TIRRENO-ADRIATICO, ITALY
Cadel aswell as fellow oz-e Robbie in action with a wet and wild stage one last night. Gerdemen toke the opener on a strange sprint with the pack catching the breakaway to let it escape again in the last 500 m?
