ADELAIDE TOUR

We’ll be racing before the NRS competitors and will be flying the BG kit proudly as we compete in the Tour Adelaide Snowys Triple T supporting event.  The event consists of a team road race, team time trial and team sprint.  We look forward to glimpsing the black and orange in the crowd cheering us on!

The team is settled and individual entries need to be registered and paid for.  We’ve got a good mix of riders from the BG ranks and plan to make a competitive entry!  The cut off for registrations is 2 May 2013 and needs to be completed and paid for through this link: https://eventdesq.imgstg.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=main&EventDesqID=2242&OrgID=8518 . Brian ran some reconnaissance on ANZAC day and below are his notes:

After yesterday's ride it is worth noting that you should all have a look at the last section which comprises the loop around 'Bird in the Hand’ winery, particularly the gravel sections.

They are steep, narrow and although not necessarily pot-holed there are a lot of loose small sharp stones which make it hard to climb out of the seat. The finish along Pheiffer Road is ok (except for the top section which is a rough gravel road for a few hundred meters) and is essentially downhill for about 4 km.

Overall a very interesting course where we will need to work together and save a bit for the steep climbs near the end.

Up the Old Freeway to Lofty and then 3 options to return

1. Down Woods Hill Road & Norton Summit

2. Down Deviation Road & Basket Range to Norton Summit

3. Down Greenhill Road/Swamp Road To Lenswood and back via Basket & Forest Ranges + Nortons

Folks are down from Brisbane so may not see you.

8am Start Hindmarsh Square
or 9am at the bollards for those wishing to take their time up the freeway.
