Sunday Ride 27/02 The Depths aka the original BG Ride

I have consulted the BOM, WeatherZone and the Mystic Runes again this week after making a completely crap call last week. So instead, I poured a glass of red and watched the tubby Kiwi guy on the You-Tube. He says the BG’s have two possible activities this Sunday. 

We either get together and build an Ark 300X50X30 Cubits or alternatively we go for a bike ride packing a light spray jacket. My Kiwi weather savant tells me that despite all the weather warnings and dire predictions this system may still miss us entirely.

So, I will fire up the Kobayashi Maru simulator again and make a weather call this Sunday. 

We have set the original BG Ride and we will use the mark 1 eyeball to make a weather call. If it’s raining or the pillars of heaven are shaking, we will call it. As thunderstorms are rated as “likely” even if does miss us we think the hills will be unwise.

A short beach loop will allow us some freedom to change things if the weather allows. 

Weather Call: 6:30 am

Meet: 7:30 am in the City

Route: Anzac Hwy, Military Rd, U-Turn at Bower Rd and return

Coffee at Skala Bakery or Semaphore

Return via Henly Beach Rd

I have consulted the BOM, WeatherZone and the Mystic Runes.  As usual the weather, if it eventuates, is forecast to arrive at dawn. I must yet again face my own personal Kobayashi Maru and make a weather call this Sunday. 

So, we have set the original BG Ride and we will use the mark 1 eyeball to make a weather call. If it’s raining, storming or the winds are too high we will call it. As thunderstorms are possible the hills are unwise. A short beach loop will allow us some freedom to change things if the weather allows.

We will need to interrogate Ferry as to why he had that Lycra dance video in his possession.

The weather for Sunday looks like a fantastic summer’s day. Warm with light winds. Perfect for a cruisy ride along the beach. So, I expect to see everyone out. You know who you are. 

Meet: In the City, Hindmarsh square 

Time: 7:30 am

Route: Outer Harbor via Port Rd. Victoria Tce, Esplanade, 

Semaphore

I was sorely tempted to go back to the hills this week as a I under the volume for the Tour de Cure and don’t want to suffer like last year. However, I will spare you but I may tack on a hill on the return.

The weather looks nice for Sunday so we will do the Ranges Ride this weekend.  It will be cool in the morning before warming up to 33 degrees with light winds.

Meet: 7:30 am at the Tower

Route:  Tower, Nortons, Ashton, Basket Range, Forrest Range, Deviation Rd, Greenhill Rd

Coffee and the obligatory pastry product at Uraidla

We will consider adding Little Italy prior to coffee and Mt Osmond on the way home.

Apparently, it’s going to bucket down in Coober Pedy buts that a long way away Brian so you can still come out for a ride. See you at the Tower.
