A short hills loop is scheduled for this Sunday.  Weather is light winds and a slight possibility for rain. It will be chilly in the hills so rug up.

I will set a weather call just in case, but I don’t think it will be required.

Happy long weekend BG’s. For those looking for a ride over the break this Sunday looks like an absolute cracker, Sunny, mid 20’s and light winds. We will swap in the hills ride that originally scheduled last week.

The new kit orders are in the works so looking forward to seeing what they look like.  Get out and enjoy the sunshine and an extra long weekend. We must see if Dan can source some of that Slovenian tokay (wine) as Pogagar is winning everything lately.

Happy Easter BG's. For those after a ride this on Easter Sunday we have scheduled the short run down to Hallett Cove. This gives you a good chance to be home for Sunday lunch. The weather doesn’t look all the promising at the moment so I propose  a weather call. I wont be riding so I will leave for those that will be to communicate on WhatsApp.

Sunday Ride - Cudlee Creek - Daylight Savings Ends

This Sundays Ride is Cudlee Creek

We are a bit off the Ride Guide this year.  So we will head out to Cudlee Creek this week to avoid a double Hahndorf. There is less climbing and the cake is far superior. As usual for Cudlee Creek there is a return option to suit everyone. 

Remember Daylight Savings ends this weekend so our start time is an hour after dawn instead of 5 minutes before first light and you get an extra hours sleep. So no excuses.

This is probably the hardest ride of the year to wake up for as sunrise is at 7:21am as it’s the week before daylight savings ends. To make it easy on everyone this week is a flat beach ride. Outer Harbor via Anzac Hwy. 

The weather situation is a bit unclear at this moment. I will decide if a weather call is required on Saturday night.  I am already getting the yips at the mere thought.

Route: Anzac Hwy, Military Rd, Seaview Rd, Military Rd, Esplanade, Outer Harbor, Return the same way

Hopefully we will see everyone out on Sunday. It was great last weekend as ran into Frank, Dave and few other old time BG’s at Uraidla.

We had a great ride last week with 9 riders tacking the Montacute loop shedding riders a fairly much every escape route. By consensus it was a good route so I will now substitute that ride for the Ranges ride on occasion this year. We also met with almost the same number of familiar faces at Uraidla coffee.  It was great to catch up.

Today’s weather is a stinker but fortunately Sunday will be a mild 25 with normal winds so we can avoid all the complexity associated with the BG hot weather policy. Sunday is a flat beach ride.

A long beach ride for this Sunday with good weather, 25 degrees and moderate winds, forecast. So, while not what we would normally expect mid-February it will be a great day for a ride.

In general news this week. We are proceeding with the new kit design with special thanks to Steve and it’s looking good. We will keep everyone posted as we proceed.

As of Wednesday, despite all efforts to kill the conversation, route selection/walking on the TDU challenge ride is still a live issue. I will be carrying a red-card on Sunday. Not saying, just saying.

For some strange reason that I can’t quite put my finger on I find myself craving a nice flat beach ride.  It’s a week early for the Club ride but that’s the way the energy bar crumbles. Forecast is 26 degrees and mild winds.

 Sunday Ride - TDU recon

TDU Week is upon us. So heaps of riding next week. We were meant to do a reconnaissance ride for the TDU finale viewing last year but it was crap weather. So this Sunday we will be doing a single lap of the finishing stage trying to scope out a location or location for best viewing on Sunday week. The primary issue that needs to be the focus of our attention is the location of the Esky. The weather looks good 28 degrees.

Meet: 7:30 am is the City, 8:30 am at the Bollards 

Route: Bollards to Lofty, Summertown, Uraidla, Rangeview, Carey Gully rd, Mt Barker Rd at Bridgewater, Aldgate,  Pomona Rd, Gould Rd, Old Mt Barker Rd, Piccadilly Rd, Crafers, Mt Lofty 

Coffee: Once the lap is done we will ride through to Uraidla for Coffee and a pork sausage roll.

Home: I suggest we either complete the lap or home via Montecute or whatever route makes sense. 

Sunday 8/10 - Club ride

 Happy New Year BG’s

The first ride of the New Year is a No Excuses club ride. The weather looks great for the first outing of 2023 but it will be hot. Hence the hot weather policy early start has been decided for this week. Also, as TDU is almost upon us there is an extension on this ride for those, like me, who need the kilometers.
