Well done to those who braved the conditions on Sunday. For those that didn't make it, the head wind and dry heat did nothing to help people get their PB. well done to anyone that got close.
if you send your times to me then i'll update the times as soon as i can.

SUNDAY RIDE - NORTON TT + HILLS
Norton Summit TT
So the rendition boys had their crack last week, with Damien Howson beating Jack Bobridge's record in an awesome time of 11 minutes 29 seconds. Now its the BG's time to check how they have improved over the summer, and whether they should be challenging the rendition boys next year.
Good Luck
-AW
The ride course is as follows:
7:30am start at Hindmarsh Square opposite Hassell office - Rundle Road - Magill Road - Regroup @ Tower Hotel at 8am.
- Time Trial Start at the line on Norton Summit Road (just around the corner from Magill Road adj to the traffic island)
- Time Trial Finish (driveway of first house on left after the 'cliff drop offs' which are also on the left, number 169)
- Regroup @ Norton Summit Hotel (record times) - then on to the Pain Lives Here ride, with the usual options for bailing out and a finishing coffee on the parade at Boungiorno's.

NEW HOUR RECORD SET BY 100 YEAR OLD
The oldest ever track record has been established by the Frenchman Robert Marchand who, over two months after turning 100 years of age, travelled to the World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland and established the mark of 24.251 kilometres.
Makes my crappy times up Norton's even more humiliating

SUN RIDE - 19th FEBRUARY - HILLS
Hills Ride + Renditions Time Trial
Apologies to Warwick, Dan & Hugh and anyone
else affected for the mix-up between the program and the actual ride
last Sunday, the program was altered to allow those people who race to
still partake in the upcoming BG time trials, and unfortunately I didn’t
check the changed program, before posting the ride.
Given
this was the case, I’ll be emailing this week’s route to everyone. I’ll
try to do that whenever there is an obvious change to the program.
However, for back up, always check the front page as it has the most up
to date info.
Sorry,
but I’m going to hijack the ride again this week, in the hopes that
it’s not just me who is excited by the rendition homes individual time
trial up Norton Summit. This week’s ride will be in the hills and will
allow those interested, to finish near the top of Norton Summit and
check out SA’s best riders go head to head up one of Adelaide’s
favourite climbs.
This could be
one of the best opportunities to see Jack Bobridges’ record broken for a
while, so hopefully there will be plenty of BG’s cheering on the
locals. I just spoke with Alan from Super’s and his prediction is it
will take below 12 minutes to win it. (On the off chance he ever reads
this blog, thanks again for fixing my wheel)
A
map will follow on the blog when I get a chance to draw it. However
this week’s ride will be up Gorge Road to the Cudlee Creek Cafe with a
number of options to get home.
Easy: Descend back down Gorge Rd
Tough with one long climb: Gorge – Corkscrew – Montacute – Ashton – Nortons
Tough with lots of ups and downs: Fox Creek – Basket Range – Forest Range
Meet at Hindmarsh Square 7:30am
or Tower Hotel @ 8:00am
I’ll be at a buck show Saturday night so make no promises beyond being at Norton Summit at some stage.

SUN RIDE REPORT
“2 days after the tour ride the plan was for a nice and easy beach ride to breathe some life back into tired legs. With the re-opening of the bridge at Glenelg we did an old favourite; Glenelg to Bower Road and back to Evida for coffee. I got caught at a set of lights with Frank on the way down the Highway and being the caring bunch of blokes (and lady) the group didn’t bother to slow down (apparently the group thought only Frank was left behind). I tried my best to stick onto Franks wheel as he caught the group, but eventually my lungs caught fire. We re-grouped at the bay and Brian took charge which saw a pace line down Military Road and back. As usual Brian broke the strong discipline of the group and went for the sprint points.
At Evida there was time for recovery with special mention to Frank who recovered with a coffee some cake and a Corona! (Frank can provide details of his night before! Fair to say that even hungover his is a bloody fast rider). After Evida myself, Brian, Michael, Aldo and Mark Duncan headed to Outer Harbour for an easy extra few kms (Brian’s description). Despite the headwind Brian flogged the rest of us and the easy cruise to Outer Harbour saw us sitting on 33 – 35 kph. Big Mike did more than his share of pushing into the wind for which I was very thankful. We headed home through the city and by the time I got home I had done 82 kms at an average of over 30kph including cruising into the city to meet the group and a slow cruise after Brain eventually turned off at East Terrace, at which time the pain finally ended. So much for an easy recovery beach ride I felt worse than after the tour ride. Big thanks to Brian because I know the pain will be worth it. CL
