SUNDAY IS SHORT PAIN PLUS BEACH

 Hello All

We will shortly post a reminder about the rules of BG sprints (copied from the 2013 blog), but in the interim, remember two things:

  • a sprint is 200 metres not 2.5 kilometres (which is a time trail); and
  • don't endanger yourself or others, or bring heat on cyclists or the BG jersey.
This weekend will involve a ride with no sprints.

We'll be doing a short pain series, via Basket Range Road to Uraidla for coffee number one, before heading to the Lofty Summit, then descending the freeway and Cross Road to Glenelg, and heading north to Henley for coffee number two.

Return will be decided at Henley, but is nominally HBR.

Meet in the city at 7.30am.

Meet at the Tower at 8.00am.

The weather looks great, so be there.

See you Sunday.

SUNDAY IS THE FULL MONTY (IT'S NOT THAT HARD...)

Righto team.

It's that time of year where you are about to eat more food than can be imagined, so lets do some pre-emptive calorie burns. We are a week behind on the program, so this week we are going to do a loop that we debuted just before Christmas 2019 and did again earlier this year, the reverse Cudlee Corker Monty (now known as the Full Monty).

Now before I hear any complaints, I was AGAIN thinking we could turn this into a psychopathic PLH pretzel, where after completing Monty, we do the ranges again for a regular PLH. Really, it's not that hard is it???

I mapped it on Strava to see that it wasn't so bad, and here it is:

Oh gorgeousness and gorgeousity, these she is in her 112km and 2416 metres of beauty.

Anyway, let's leave that for after Christmas. Aldo an I have decided we will start that one at 6.00am, so those only up for a regular PLH can then going us at Norton's at 8.30am.

Anyway, I digress.

So tomorrow let's do this bad boy instead:

Meet in the City at 7.30am.

Meet at the Tower at 8.00am.

Estimated arrival at Cudlee Creek at 10.00am and departure at 10.30am.

Back in Norwood at 12.00pm.

There are multiple bailout options, such as down the George (skipping Corkscrew and Montecute) and down Montecute (skipping up Montecute). So really, at it's easiest, it is only half a PLH with a short climb up the back of Fox Creek. Easy Pezy Lemon Squeezy.

See you Sunday.

Sundays Ride is Pain Delayed

This Sundays Ride is the Pain Lives Here loop held over from last Sunday due to lightning and storms. We were hanging off due to the forecast for the next 2 days. However it looks like the heat from Friday and Saturday will have moderated and it will be a very pleasant 24  degrees.

Meet: In the City at 7:30 or the Tower Hotel car park

Route: Nortons, Ashton, Basket Range, Forrest Range, Deviation Rd, Greenhill Rd

Coffee at Urlaidla

Home via Lofty Summit.

See you Sunday.

Dunkin Doughnuts Tandem Bike

I am not sure if you have seen this Christmas offering from Dunkin Doughnuts for $500. Its not a kids bike its a full sized road frame. I am not an expert on bike geometry but  this cant possibly work can it?. If you had Tilley on the back you would be perpendicular to the tarmac pointing to the sky.
