Sunday Ride - Hallett Cove

Sunday Ride - Hallett Cove

Sorry about the late post. I was waiting to see what the weather might do given we got 46mm of rain on Thursday. I also had my Covid jab today that soaked up the afternoon. If your booked in for the Jab my advice is to get there a little bit early to do the paperwork and be prepared to hear every conspiracy theory when you tell people. Well hopefully my 5G reception will improve.

Anyway

Meet in the City at 8:00am

Sundays Ride is Hallett Cove. The Forecast is 16 degrees and light winds.

Route: Either Anzac Hwy or Unley Rd to be decided in the morning

Coffee: Glenelg

Return: Straight Home or Henley Beach Rd by consensus.

Sunday Ride - Winter Rules - No Excuses - Outer Harbor via Port Rd

Happy Friday BG's the Winter Ride Schedule has commenced. This means that for the Winter season rides will always meet in the city at 8am. It will always be a beach rise and any Hills will be by consensus at the city start.  The BG admin will be up early and issue any weather induced cancellations by 7:15am.

It is so good to talk about winter anything without making a GoT reference.

Weather is 19 degrees  winds 20-25 kph

Meet in the City at 8:00am

Outer- Harbor via Port Rd, Coffee at Glenelg, return via Anzac Hwy

As Brian hasn't been out to defend the BG points competition Jersey his lead has been whittled down over the last few weeks to mere 2 million points. We are coming for you Brian one sprint at a time. Be warned.

Sunday Ride - Anything Can Happen - Beachy Hills

Sunday Ride - Anything Can Happen - Beachy Hills

This Sunday is the first ride of Winter as is the Anything Can Happen ride. As we have struggled for numbers with people having commitments we have kept this one with lots of variations and early exits available.

Beachy Hills is a Two Coffee and Cake stop ride. Hey, Its Winter we need the carbs.

Meet in the City at 8:00 am

Part One - Beachy

City - Port Rd, Victoria Tce, Outer Harbor, Esplanade, Glenelg

Part Two - Hillsy

Glenelg - Anzac Highyway, Norwood, Coffee at Norwood, Nortons

Afternoon Rides and Numbers

After soliciting feedback about number there is support for an afternoon ride. The admin group hasn't had time to discuss this. Leave it with me.

I think we have agreement is that we are stuck in middle and as such don't completely suit either the fast guys who want a harder ride and suit those that are less fit and need a more moderate pace.  The issue is what we want to do, if anything, about it.

Sunday Ride - Up and Over - Short Hills + Beach

The Route: Norton Summit, Ashton, Greenhill Rd, Mt Lofty, Toll Gate, Cross Rd, Glenelg

Distance:  85km (50km to Coffee) and 800m of climbing

Weather for Sunday looks good: 24 degrees

The Giro has been excellent in case you haven't been watching. The Gravel climbs have really shaken things up.

There is now a new world in Zwift,  Makuri Islands - Yumezi. Its a Japanese world in case you haven't guessed and is set up to be expanded later. Speculation is more roads near the Olympics.  So crack a Pocari Sweat and enjoy   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92b-BbNWnyE
